Hub for inland shipping
Situated directly on the Hollands Diep canal, MCT provides access to all major sailing routes: from and to Rotterdam and Antwerp, but also further inland in the Netherlands and in the direction of Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, etc. For several large inland shipping lines, MCT is a fixed point of call in their European sailing schedules.
Efficient tug-push boat concept
In the context of European Gateway Services, MCT is connected twice daily by barge with the deep-sea terminals at Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte. The use of tug-push boats here creates optimum efficiency and reliability. A push tug time and again delivers a full push boat at the terminal and directly departs again with a new one. Discharging and loading takes place while the push tug is underway.
